How to organize your own flying club?
Recently, people are increasingly choosing active and extreme types of recreation. Many of us love to tickle our nerves, which is why the business of organizing a flying club, which provides the opportunity to fly in a helicopter or light aircraft, is gaining popularity. One hour of such a flight costs up to $ 500. And although this business is just starting to grow, risky entrepreneurs are investing in it.
Russian legislation does not yet facilitate the development of this business, rather the opposite. Movements in airspace up to 150 meters from the ground are strictly controlled by the relevant authorities. For each flight, it is necessary to provide a clear route, indicating the time one day before its implementation, and even this will not save you from an unreasonable refusal, which is the norm for air traffic control. Abroad, for example, such a permit can be obtained two hours before the flight and by phone.
Until the legislation develops in the same vein regarding airspace, aerobusiness will not get much development. And there are prospects - it would be possible to organize an air taxi, which wealthy people would definitely use. Perhaps some individuals would also think about purchasing helicopters or airplanes for personal use.
Until then aero business is developing slowly, also affects the low awareness of the population about the possibility of renting aircraft. Fear of flying keeps many, although statistics show that many more people die in car accidents than in plane crashes.
|
At present, there are about 40 flying clubs operating in Russia, which are located at existing airfields. The fact is that it is very difficult to organize your own airfield. To do this, you need to obtain a huge amount of permission, choose the right land plot, to withstand all the stringent requirements that are imposed on it, to organize a dispatch service, to equip a sufficient runway and more.
The flying clubs that exist in our country are organized in such a way that their members pay entrance and monthly fees, and for this they use equipment, which is most often owned by private individuals. The prices for aircraft are impressive, helicopters cost from 250 to 450 thousand dollars, a new plane - 160-200 thousand dollars, so flying clubs cannot afford to buy them.
How can flying clubs make money? There are several areas of their activity - sale of equipment, rent of aircraft and helicopters, flight training. You won't earn much on the sale, and if you increase prices, then the equipment will be sold from time to time. Renting can provide different income, the price per hour of rent is from 140 to 750 dollars. This difference in price can be easily explained - different equipment requires different care and maintenance, some cars are expensive to maintain, others are cheaper.
The greatest profit can be obtained from the provision of flight lessons. To become a professional, you need to "fly" 42 hours, and one hour costs 350-450 dollars.
The cost of an hour of flight for an entrepreneur will be about $ 250-350. Considering that there is only one not the most expensive helicopter in the flying club park, which flies up to 70 hours a month, you can get 35 thousand dollars in monthly income.
The expenses in such a club:
depreciation of equipment - 10.5 thousand dollars;
Fuels and lubricants - 4 thousand dollars;
pilot and technician salary - $ 1,000;
helipad rental - $ 1,000;
maintenance - 1.3 thousand dollars;
advertising and other expenses -5 thousand dollars.
Thus, the net profit from the flying club will be about 12 thousand dollars per month.
According to the Kommersant newspaper, the deputy of the Legislative Assembly, the owner of the Panorama cinema network, Alexander Fleginsky, is selling the Helix helicopter company, which he bought five years ago. The only private airline in Prikamye will go to LLC Helicopter Projects from Surgut, according to one version, close to representatives of Skol. Alexander Fleginsky explained the reason for the sale by the need to develop the enterprise by entering new markets. Alexander Fleginsky became the owner of the company in 2006, having bought it out from the top management. Then he explained his desire to enter this business as follows: “We intend to revive small aviation in the Kama region. We understand that this is a difficult business. But it's interesting for us. " At that time, Mr. Fleginsky did not disclose the amount of the transaction, but at the beginning of 2006 the value of the Helix business was estimated at $ 2-2.5 million. Alexander Fleginsky tried to actively develop the helicopter business in the Kama region. In addition to the purchase of helicopters, Mr. Fleginsky bought out several helipads, as well as the airport in the city of Berezniki. However, not having time to implement his plans there, Alexander Fleginsky announced his intention to sell the airport, but there was no buyer for it. In 2007, the company tried to organize a helicopter club and a sales center for Robinson and Eurocopter 130 helicopters. The company announced plans to sell ten helicopters a year. For sale, they purchased seven Robinson helicopters (made in the USA, each costing about $ 500-600 thousand) and one Eurocopter 130 helicopter (made in France, costing about $ 5.3 million). But in the end, Helix managed to sell only two helicopters, and the program was curtailed. In addition, the company tried to organize, together with tour operators, helicopter routes around the Kama region, and also considered plans for the development of regional aviation. However, "Heliks" clarified that without the support of this type of activity from the regional authorities, this is an unprofitable business. Helix Airline CJSC was founded in 1992 and is the only private airline in the Perm Territory. Helix Airline CJSC is 19 years of successful work in civil aviation. The fleet includes 6 Mi-2 helicopters, 6 Mi-8 helicopters and a Bell-206 helicopter. All first class pilots are certified. Helix Airlines is a holder of the Crystal Earthmaker award (Great Britain) and the American Golden Certificate of International Prestige (USA). Since its inception, the company has been based at Bolshoye Savino airport. The airport has open areas for storing aircraft and a large closed box for warm storage and maintenance of helicopters. Types of aerial work performed by the company: patrolling pipelines, delivering work crews. Control of oil and gas pipelines. Transferring groups of workers to perform tasks in remote areas. Prompt delivery of bulky and bulky cargo to hard-to-reach areas, including on an external sling. Transportation of dangerous goods. Search and rescue operations. The ability to quickly get to remote areas, perform tasks to save people, eliminate the consequences of emergencies. Emergency assistance and prompt delivery of patients from remote settlements to medical institutions. Patrolling forests and protected areas. Landing of fire brigades. Performing aerial photography for mapping the area. Business and presentation flights, passenger transportation. Flights to anywhere in the Perm Territory and neighboring regions. Fishing, hunting and ecological tourism.

Development of a business plan for opening a branch of Skol Airlines LLC
Summary
Theoretical Aspects of Development Summary
A project summary is a concise, quickly readable overview of information about the intended business and the goals that the company sets for itself when starting a business or developing an existing one.
It is with short conclusions that any business plan should start. They may be written last, but they should be the very first paragraph of a business plan. Conclusions should be short - no more than 2-3 pages.
In essence, the concept is a shortened version of the business plan itself. The summary should reflect the following main points:
business opportunities;
business attractiveness;
importance for the enterprise and the region;
necessary financial resources (own or borrowed);
payback period of the project;
the possible term for the return of borrowed funds;
investment conditions;
expected profit and its distribution, etc.
The order of presentation of the concept is quite loose, but it must start with main goal the proposed business (usually making a profit) and the purpose of the developed business plan. It is necessary to define the strategy of the company and the specific measures developed to achieve it.
It is advisable to present these data in the form of a table containing a description of the business methods used and the corresponding activities aimed at solving specific problems within the framework of the chosen strategy. It is necessary to indicate the circle of persons responsible for the implementation of various activities. It is also advisable to determine the time frame for the implementation of these activities, which will show that the plan has been developed soundly and in good faith.
The last page of the resume should be devoted to the financial results from the implementation of the project: revenue, costs, profit, profitability, payback period, loan repayment period and interest on it, NPV, IRR. Potential risks and insurance system.
A resume is an independent advertising document, because it contains the main provisions of the entire business plan. This will be the only part that most potential investors will read. In essence, the concept is a shortened version of the business plan itself.
The serious investor receives dozens of business plans every week and has more material than he can read. Therefore, an investor needs a resume to decide whether it is worth reading the entire business plan as a whole. If a company is writing a resume that shoots an investor, half of the work is done. It is also important to note that investors may not read the entire plan to establish the amount of investment required. The resume should highlight in a concise and convincing manner the key points of the business plan: the financial needs of the company, the potential of the market, and the possibilities for obtaining this support.
Summary of a business plan for setting up a branch
Currently, there is a fairly intensive development of helicopter aviation. A fairly significant increase in the helicopter fleet takes place annually, while the number of light and medium-class helicopters, used mainly by general aviation (GA), is increasing. Such a field of application of helicopters as medical aviation has also received a very serious development. In general, the circle of customers for aerial work is expanding, and the need for aerial work on helicopters is growing.
Thanks to the positive changes in the regulatory framework in the field of ground support for helicopter flights, the infrastructure of the helicopter business has been intensively developed - helipads, heliports, helicopter centers. The service network is expanding. The intensity of flights is growing.
The purpose of writing this business plan is to open an airline branch. In the market of aviation transport services in Eastern Siberia, the company has identified a steady additional demand for cargo transportation and aviation work.
Skol Aviation Company aims to master this transportation by opening a branch and purchasing four Mi-8T aircraft. The branch will be based at the international airport in Irkutsk.
In accordance with the conducted market research, based on the indicated number of enterprises, it can be assumed that the total average annual demand for the airline's services in the Irkutsk region is about 12,000 flight hours.
In connection with the above, in our opinion, it is promising to open a branch of the airline at the international airport of Irkutsk, providing the following types of services:
- 1. Freight transport by aircraft
- 2. Construction, installation and exploration works using helicopters
- 3. Aerovisual work on the Mi-8T aircraft
The project was initiated by Skol Airlines LLC.
Successful project implementation is determined by the following factors:
- · High market potential of the projected branch location and high dynamics of market capacity growth;
- · Complexity and variety of services provided;
- · All-season nature of the activities carried out, guaranteeing stable income throughout the year;
According to the project, the branch will be rented buildings and structures located on the territory of 250 sq. m. In this case, the total usable area of \u200b\u200ball premises will be 250 sq. m. m.
Profit from transportation and performance of work is planned in the amount of 42075.5 thousand rubles. Profitability of work - 28.5%
The sky over the Moscow Ring Road and the Moscow Region has long become a fiefdom for helicopters of various classes and brands. Now no one is surprised by the large number of rotary-wing aircraft that fly daily and in large numbers, performing completely different tasks. And the capital's helicopter market has long passed from the category of some kind of exoticism and envy on the part of those “deprived of the opportunity to fly” into a full-fledged business segment, with its own rules of the game, serious investments and somewhere ambitious plans for the future. And there are many prerequisites for this.
The largest player in this market, in just nine months, was the project of the NDV-Real Estate Group - Heliport Moscow. Today it is one of the most modern helicopter complexes in Russia with huge growth potential and the desire of the owners to turn it into an absolute standard. Heliport Moscow will debut this year at the annual Moscow exhibition Jet Expo 2014. Alexander Khrustalev, CEO of NDV-Real Estate, tells BizavNews about the project's implementation and plans for the future.
Throughout 2014, Heliport Moscow has been the main newsmaker on the helicopter market in Moscow and beyond. Since the launch of the project at the end of 2013, it can be seen with the naked eye that a huge amount of work has been done, and the company's previously announced plans are quite consistent with real business. What facilities will be built this year, and has the investment plan been adjusted for the next two years?
As we stated, Heliport Moscow now exists in a light version, but this is much more than everyone expected. Now it is a full-fledged working multifunctional center with a very solid fleet of its own equipment, with the latest models of the most popular helicopters (20 aircrafts), storage hangars, helipads, a modern training and service center, a hotel, a restaurant, a small administrative building, a spare parts store and flight clothing. The flow of investment in this project will certainly increase. To date, we have already spent about two billion rubles on the development of the center and are ready to invest new funds in this promising area.
As you know, now we are also developing a new large-scale project - Heliports of Russia, to which more and more new companies are joining. Negotiations are ongoing with representatives of various regions of the country on the construction of high-quality heliports throughout Russia. We have already begun work on the design of the Heliport Ulyanovsk center.
This year we also began a complete reconstruction of the Aviamarket helicopter center, now called Heliport Istra. There will be new hangars for storing helicopters, new platforms, a new one, equipped with everything necessary, service center and a large restaurant - a real travel club, which simply did not exist in Russia!
At the same time, we are approving a program for the development of helicopter traffic in the Moscow Region. We have developed and proposed our vision of further prospects in this industry, and now the project is under discussion. With the support of government officials, there is an opportunity to create a truly effective strategy for the next few years. We plan to agree on a new program, and thus the construction of heliports of a completely new level will begin throughout the region - modern, multifunctional, with a full range of necessary services that will be really in demand: offices, hotels, training centers, business centers, shops that will correspond to the topic of the helicopter message.
Of course, our top-priority plans include the development of helicopter centers throughout the Moscow region. In the near future, we also plan to open a new Heliport in Reutov and at least two more new centers on the Moscow Ring Road. In parallel, we have many interesting business projects that we have not yet announced, but believe me, we will have something to surprise you with.
There are a lot of ideas, and they are constantly being transformed, and our plans are not affected by any economic situation, we have long been accustomed to going against the wind.
What services in the company's portfolio are most in demand now and in which segments will Heliport Moscow try itself in the future?
The first is air taxi, which can be used by all members of our club. There is a lot of talk about this, but so far no one has done anything like this. Now it is possible to quickly get to the airport or dacha, go fishing or take a business flight. Prices for such services are optimal, and the advantages are obvious. This is a real time saver. This is quality and comfort.
The second point is that we pay special attention to flight safety, namely the organization of our own safety courses, which no one else has. These are our original developments, certified by the Federal Air Transport Agency. We conduct a whole series of pilot training courses, there are programs for training flights in poor visibility conditions, at night. We are the only ones who do such things.
For the first time, we have lowered rates for aircraft insurance, due to the fact that we managed to negotiate with partners (to achieve exclusive conditions). I think that after a while 70-80 percent of all Russian vessels will be insured through our structures.
We launched leasing offers for the purchase of helicopters, real convenient programs that actually work today. In our opinion, this is a very popular story.
For the first time, we launched a service - "tuning" helicopters. At your request, it can be completely changed, both inside and outside, of course, in compliance with all the necessary technical characteristics and safety requirements. Possible hauling of the helicopter cabin and seats, airbrushing, installation of multimedia systems. We can offer any design you want, plus we have released our own limited edition - limited edition.
As for more mass services, now air tourism is becoming more widespread, and we are paying special attention to these programs. Almost every two weeks our pilots fly somewhere, develop more and more new routes, both in Russia and in Europe. There are great long flights, there are weekend routes. We offer completely unique unusual travels, we try to find some special places.
And, of course, the service for real romantics is unconditionally popular. About 100 young people were able to make proposals to their beloved exactly on our helicopters.
How is the company preparing for the first “winter season” in its history, when the parking service is most in demand? What is the total hangar area for all-season storage of helicopters "Heliport Moscow" currently has?
Our heliports ("Heliport Istra", "Heliport Moscow") now have a total of sufficient storage space for helicopters. This is about 150 units. Already from September 1, when precipitation and freezing temperatures begin, many use this service. We are ready for this season, which usually runs from September to March.
By the way, this is a great time for diagnostics, especially since now we are preparing a whole range of new proposals for the necessary options. I would like to note that we have special conditions for members of other helicopter clubs, who are going to switch to Heliport Moscow.
Please tell us about the modernization of the helicopter fleet. How many and what machines are in operation now? Any plans to acquire aircraft by the end of the year? Will we see helicopters from other manufacturers in addition to Robinson and Airbus Helicopters in the company's fleet?
We now have two modern Airbus Helicopters EC130 T2 helicopters, one Airbus Helicopters AS350 B3, three Robinson R66 and several R44 Ravens from the American manufacturer Robinson Helicopter. There are plans to purchase AgustaWestland helicopters: AW 119 and AW139, and of course Bell-407GX and Bell-429. These are excellent models, which, I think, will enter our reserve next year.
Heliport Moscow became the first operator of the Airbus Helicopters EC130 T2 helicopter. What are your impressions of the car and plans for the further purchase of these helicopters? Is the company also eyeing other models of the European manufacturer, for example, the EC145 T2?
This is truly the best business aviation car. And the main indicator is customer demand. Those who have flown the Airbus Helicopters EC130 T2 will no longer want to change it for anything else. We are considering the possibility of buying the next Airbus Helicopters model - EC145, although we are just looking closely, but we still think that Bell will be the next acquisition.
Does the company think about dealerships, for example, of large foreign manufacturers that are not yet so active in the domestic market?
We are already a Robinson dealer, and we also sell Airbus Helicopters, Bell, Agusta helicopters. We will not comment in more detail yet. We are thinking, but do not want to advertise our plans yet. It is quite possible that in the future it will be Bell Helicopter, AgustaWestland and Sikorsky Aircraft.
Heliport Moscow is a diversified company. Do you plan to start work in the so-called “non-aviation segments”?
Of course, we plan to develop stores, our own line of designer flight clothing, and, of course, tourism, travel, which we have already discussed.
Each business has about 3-4 points of growth, we have 20 of them, and we are ready to move in the most non-standard directions, to find prospects where you cannot even imagine. We know that we will find many more interesting new things. There are many new achievements ahead, new directions, which we will definitely tell you about separately. This will be a big surprise for the Russian market!
Is the company planning to attract a strategic aviation partner in the future?
There is no need for this. We do not plan to involve any strategic partners, because we have all the necessary resources. Today the best pilots, the best specialists work in the Heliport network. The newest helicopters are with us, the best service is with us.
